Josh Lively was born in San Antonio, Texas and grew up in The Woodlands, Texas. Mr. Lively graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science and a minor in History from Baylor University. He received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in May of 2013.
While in law school, Mr. Lively participated as a student member in the Robert W. Calvert American Inn of Court. He was a member of the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties and Civil Rights, and spent time volunteering to help pro se litigants through Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas. Mr. Lively worked for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission as well as the Antitrust Section of the Texas Attorney General's office before taking a position at Cantilo & Bennett.
Mr. Lively was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in November 2013. He is a member of the Austin Bar Association, as well as the Austin Young Lawyers Association.
